Merry Christmas from Compass Creative!

On December 24, 1914, German soldiers put down their weapons to light candles around their trenches and began singing Christmas carols. From the other side of No Man’s Land, British soldiers responded by singing carols of their own.

Soon after, soldiers from both sides crossed over to each other, sharing wine, tobacco and handshakes with the very men they were tasked to kill.

This “Christmas Truce” was truly a Christmas miracle. During one of the bloodiest conflicts of modern history, the birth of Jesus had the power to bring peace and love to the battlefield.

“Long lay the world in sin and error pining
Till he appear'd and the soul felt its worth.
A thrill of hope the weary soul rejoices
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn!”

Unfortunately, our world is still divided in many ways — politically, socially, economically and ideologically.

The days have not just become shorter with the season, they also appear to have grown darker with a thousand conflicts, cares and concerns.

But as we celebrate the birth of our Saviour, we have an opportunity to reflect on the reason for his coming, to give thanks for his life, death & resurrection, to accept the gift of himself, to extend the love He showed us to others and to move toward one another in peace.

“Truly He taught us to love one another
His law is love and His gospel is peace
Chains shall He break for the slave is our brother,
And in His name, all oppression shall cease
Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we,
Let all within us praise His holy name”

Here at Compass, we are taking this time to reflect on how blessed we are. 2022 was a year with some new beginnings — Jason became a grandpa, two of our team members welcomed their first child and Diego and his wife Marissa their fifth! Professionally, we had a few changes too. We welcomed Amy and Alex to our team and we said goodbye to Dan.

We’re thankful for our talented team members, for our courageous clients and our hardworking suppliers. The opportunity to serve you is a gift we celebrate every day.

It’s always gratifying to see how much we can accomplish in a year when we work together.

So thank you for choosing us to be part of your growth and success. We wish you all peace, love and joy. May the light that came into the world at Christmas, brighten your holiday season and give you hope for the New Year!

Merry Christmas!
